Chili Garlic Brussels Sprouts & Asparagus

By steaming the Brussels and Asparagus more of the nutrients stay intact. And you will love this simple dressing! So easy and delicious.

Adding steamed potatoes to this dish or substituting them for the Brussels is a delicious option.

  • 1 pound brussels sprouts, ends trimmed and halved

  • 1 pound asparagus, ends trimmed and chopped

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh red chili pepper (remove seeds for less spice)

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion

  • 3 tablespoons lime juice

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons raw honey

Add 3 inches of water to a medium-sized pot, bring it to a boil, and add a steaming basket. Place the brussels sprouts in the basket, cover and steam for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, add the chopped asparagus. Steam together for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

In a medium sized bowl add the chopped chili, garlic, green onion, lime juice and raw honey. Mix well. Add the steamed veggies and toss to coat. Serve and enjoy!
